ADOPTED KOREAN BOY’S ENTRY TO U.S. CLEARED BY SOLONS - TOO LATE

Washington (UP) The House passed a special bill Tuesday to admit to this country a 13-year old Korean boy who was unofficially adopted by the 1st Marine Division. The members had not learned until several hours later that their action was to no avail. Kim Song Nore was killed in a truck accident in Korea last October. The boy’s parents were killed earlier during the Inchon landing by U.S. forces and he attached himself to the Marine division at Inchon.

The Marines made arrangements with officials at Father Flanagen’s boys home in Boys Town to take care of him. Special action by Congress was required for him to get into the country.
