SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Pac S&S)- Francis Cardinal
Spellman announced today he would donate a total of $35,000 to the
orphans of Korea on behalf of the Catholics of New York.
The cardinal said he would give $5,000 to each
of the seven Korean bishops who will handle the care and education
of children who had been orphaned during the Korean war.
"I want to have a part with our soldiers in
helping your children to grow up to be worthy citizens of Korea,"
the cardinal told some 80 Korean orphan girls who stood in the front
rank of 600 Korean Catholics in Seoul Cathedral Auditorium.
