Dear Russ,
You may be interested in the enclosed article in
the Dayton Daily News, 25 June 2000.
I called Dean Hess on Sunday and told him I was involved
in taking planeloads of toys, clothing, and food to the orphanage in
1953 or 1954.
Then I asked him if he remembered Chaplain Russell
Blaisdell. Immediately he said, "Yes, he was of tremendous help
to me in getting planes from 5th Air Force to take the orphans
to Cheju-do Island." He continued to praise you for all your help.
I remember your criticism of the book and movie which
gave you no credit, but this may make you feel somewhat better.
