500-Pounds of Cereal Sent for Orphans

PUSAN, Korea, June 27 (PMP)-Cpl. Phil McHaney, Dallas, Tex., received quite a package from home yesterday-500 pounds of oatmeal.  McHaney soon found that the cereal was meant for Pusan orphans.  Some time ago the corporal, a former all-city football tackle, wrote to the sports editor of the Dallas News and described the plight of Korea's homeless children.

The paper launched "Operation Dallas" to send McHaney goods to be distributed among Pusan orphans.  So far, McHaney understands, the drive has collected nearly half a ton of oatmeal and 300 pounds of clothing.  He expects more big packages from home in the near future.
