Yank Adopts 135 Orphans

 HQ., U.S. 24^TH DIV., Korea-A KMAG soldier has adopted 135 Korean War orphans here.  PFC Don Vinkemulder, who has no family of his own, made a contribution of $300 to the 34^th Inf. Regt.'s Orphanage Fund.  The fund has been established to provide housing for the 135 orphans.

When Vinkemulder arrived in Korea in March, he decided to assist needy Koreans with his savings.  A Korean chaplain in his KMAG detachment referred him to Chaplain (Maj.) Cassius M. Ellis, 34^th regimental chaplain, who is in charge of the campaign.  The fund was started by a $3,500 contribution from the 34^th's NCO Open Mess.  The orphanage is expected to cost $12,500.
