HQ., EIGHTH ARMY, Jan. 28-Sgt. Thayer M. Williams,
a cook at 22nd Sig. Gp. Hq. in Seoul, and his Korean wife,
Mrs. Young Soon Lee Williams, have appointed themselves the foster parents
of a tiny Korean baby which Sgt. Williams found in the business district
of Seoul last week. Sgt. Williams, Wilmington, Del., found the baby
in an alleyway near the Seoul PX and after searching in vain for the
mother, rushed it to the 121st Evacuation Hospital in Seoul.
The infant has been placed under the care of the Seoul Sanitarium.
Sgt. Williams and 4 other soldiers plan to contribute a portion of their
pay each month to the support.
