The Smile That Won The Airmen’s Hearts

FIFTH AIR FORCE, KOREA—Kim Ya Boo or “Bing”, flashes the smile that won the heart of his foster father, A/2C Nicholas J. Tirpak of Beaver Meadows, Pa., at the 51st Fighter Interceptor Wing base in Korea. Bing lost his parents during the war and also the sight of an eye. The Air Police squadron is having a false eye made for the boy. Bing says that he would like Santa Claus to bring him an American-style sling shot for his Christmas present this year.
